Premiers Reading Challenge 2012

9/2/2012

The Challenge has commenced for 2012!! This is the ninth year of the Premiers Reading Challenge and once again students from Reception to Year 9 are being challenged to read 12 books by 7 September. Students in Year 10, 11 and 12 can continue to participate if they wish.

This year a new award, the Reader for Life - bronze award, will be presented to students who have completed the challenge nine times.

As 2012 is the National Year of Reading the Premier has added an extra challenge to the Premiers Reading Challenge - he is asking that students "not only read the 12 books for the Challenge, but ... also read an extra book in 2012, in the hope that students collectively reach the target of 1.5 million books. This is known as the "12 + 1" campaign".

Visit the Premiers Reading Challenge Website at http://www.premiersreadingchallenge.sa.edu.au/prc/pages/books/brochure/ to view booklists, reading records and to check your name on the wall of fame!
